Should I take the Seminar if I have no prior experience in Public Speaking?

The coaches at The Purple Podium have decades of experience coaching the full range of the public speaking experience spectrum, from the novice to the professional. One of the advantages of the public seminar approach is that there is a mix of experience levels in the room. You will gain confidence and gain best practices by observing each other as the coaches create a real team building environment for learning and professional growth.

What if I only want to work on specific skills such as "Debate" or "Media Interviews"?

Your skills on any individual segment of the seminar will be enhanced by taking the workshop in its entirety. The Purple Podium is a modularized program where building blocks for effective communication are constructed.  Building Trust, Humanication and Communicating a Position are fundamental skills that are taught in the seminar and become essential tools for any one and all of the Seminar Sections.

How is The Purple Podium superior to other public speaking workshops?

While other Public Speaking Workshops may use a modular technique and video taping as a coaching tool, The Purple Podium takes this traditional approach to a new level. The political arena is fast paced with higher risks for the inexperienced communicator and high expectations for outstanding performance and results. Thus, the exercises are designed to be more rigorous thus creating a more intense stretch for the participants. We are confident that the Podium's methodology will develop your skills faster and farther than other public speaking workshops.

Will my videos, taped during the workshop, remain private or are they public domain?

During the workshop, the coaches sign a nondisclosure agreement with the participants to keep the recordings the sole property of the participant and totally private. Participants will be able to log into their Purple Podium account and access their film at any time. Only the testimonials, filmed during the graduation ceremony, will be the property of The Purple Podium.

Why would I want to take the workshop with other participants instead of one-on-one personalized training?

Effectiveness of the training depends upon your ability to relate to an audience. With the public setting that we offer, a ready-made audience exists in the room which enhances your ability to demonstrate skills practice with live, immediate feedback. The coaches are experienced in creating a safe environment where deep and rich learning takes place. You will serve as a member of the audience for your classmates in the workshop and will learn from and be witness to their growth also.

If I am unhappy with the training, what recourse do I have?

The Purple Podium guarantees that we will meet or exceed your expectations. Should we fail to do so, we will refund your fees, less our deposit for enrolling.

The coaches for The Purple Podium are experienced in many areas related to the different forms of communications in a political or business setting as well as personal branding. Topics such as "Handling a Press Conference" and "Campaigning Using Social Networks" are examples of the areas for which we consult.
